Cena de Monte Adentro 2019

La Casa de la Herencia Cultural Puertorriqueña invites you to its annual community “Cena de Monte Adentro” event, scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2019, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, at El Barrio’s Artspace PS109. Our featured musical group will be Tato Torres and YERBABUENA!

Cena de Monte Adentro is a very special production for La Casa. We celebrate one of the most delightful treasures of the Puerto Rican gastronomy, exercise our cooking skills, prepare a variety of dishes reflective of our “Cocina Criolla,” and celebrate the efforts of those planting the seeds of sustainability.

In keeping with our history and mission, this year, we commemorate and celebrate Luisa Capetillo’s Legacy, and all women making a change for the better during these challenging times.

This year, we also honor Maria Cruz, Executive Director for ARCO Management Inc./Taíno Towers, and a key community leader who has contributed to the development and revitalization of El Barrio/East Harlem.

For our entertainment and cultural music experience we are presenting, Tato Torres and Yerbabuena, and DJ Tommy Tee Gomez, for a most danceable evening. Joining us is also Cynthia Sepulveda, the founder and CEO of “Flaco Coquito” who took into account the health issues of her community to make a healthier version of our Puerto Rican holiday staple drink, for all families to enjoy.

Cena de Monte Adentro takes place at the gorgeous first floor gallery of El Barrio’s Artspace PS 109, located at 215 East 99 Street, between Second and Third Avenue, with easy access to the Q Train on 2nd Avenue, and the 6 Train on Lexington Avenue. Uptown and Downtown local and express buses also run along 2nd and 3rd Avenues. This venue is wheelchair accessible.
